Jane Furse – Will Limpopo despite having low reported covid-19 cases face 22:00 curfew?
Currently Limpopo stand on 18 763 (2,3%) reported cases, making the first province with the least number of reported cases in South Africa followed by Northern Cape with 23 377 (2.9%) cases.
Here’s the reason STUF News Team is of the presumption that some places such as Polokwane in Polokwane Municipality, Ngwaabe, Burgersfort and Ga-Phasha in Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality, and Jane Furse in Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality falling within Sekhukhune District Municipality might experience a hardened lockdown regulations.
Even though Jane Furse and the three Fetakgomo Tubatse places might be the least with the reported cases of coronavirus – they are likely to be reintroduced to level 3 of SA lockdown and see the 22:00 to 04:00 curfew like Nelson Mandela Bay in Eastern Cape. But it won’t be to restrict the spread of covid-19 as no surge was seen in the aforementioned places.
The prediction is based on the following;
- The behaviour of the residents of the aforesaid local municipalities within Sekhukhune District is unacceptable as they are not obeying the covid-19 regulations.
- The consumption of alcohol following in these areas emerge to be somewhat unanticipated as the country is facing difficult times.
- One of the most disturbing matter seem to be the escalation of car accidents interval 10pm and 5am in Limpopo as a whole, the Limpopo MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Ms Mavhungu Lerole Ramakhanya showed her concern in all the accidents that took the lives of many, when she was sending her heartfelt condolence to the families of the deceased of which might lead to the reintroduction of level 3 of SA lockdown.

As festive season is already here, what is anticipated is naught other than matters that would occur due to the consumption of alcohol or poor management or adhering to lockdown level 1 protocols. Exposing others to covid-19 as people from provinces with high rate of infections will be coming to Limpopo unless there’s a total shutdown, refraining movement from one province to anothe until the passing of these holidays.
