Jane Furse – Towards the morning of the month end November 2020, three (3) people lost their lives in a high collision outside Polokwane, the incident took place around 5:00am.
According to Review Online, the Limpopo’s Department of Transport Media Liaison Officer, Mike Maringa confirmed the passing of the three (3) people and the other three (3) were earnestly injured following the collision that happen towards this morning.
Maringa said that the investigations revealed that two vehicles, a minibus taxi and bakkie, were involved in the concussion, and both burst into flames. The three people who were declared dead on the scene, two of them were from the taxi and one from the bakkie.
According to ER24’s Communication Officer, Russel Meiring three other people sustained serious injuries and were immediately attended upon the Medics’ arrival on the scene. “Assessment showed that two patients were in a critical condition while the third person was in serious condition. Medics treated the patients and provided the critically injured with advanced life support interventions before they were transported to hospital for further care.” said Meiring.
The N1 road from Mall of the North to Landros Maré closed for about 2 hours, currently the road is open.
The Limpopo’s Transport and Community Safety MEC, Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya has sent heartfelt messages of condolence to the families of the deceased for the beievement.
