An excellent opportunity has become available to join a leader within the medical device industry, as a Junior Design Engineer. The role is based in the Cape Town area.
Requirements:
- B.Eng / BSc. Eng in Mechanical / Biomedical Engineering
- Proficient in 3D CAD software (preferably Solidworks)
- Can work independently and within a team
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Responsibilities:
- Research, concept development, product design and development
- Manufacturing of device concepts
- Testing of device concepts
- Liaising with suppliers and 3rd parties for manufacturing of components (custom mechanical parts, tooling, stock parts, etc.)
- Setup test protocols and orderly documenting of all developments/experiments run
- Verification testing
- Test protocol writing
- Test report writing
- Compliance with medical device regulatory requirements
