WSP Group Africa invites unemployed graduates to apply for a 12-month Graduate / Internship Programme 2022 / 2023.

We are seeking a Graduate engineer who has background technical knowledge in the mechanical building services (HVAC) field, which can be utilised as a strong foundation to successfully contribute to the productivity and success of the Property Coastal Mechanical team. The candidate should have a passion for engineering, be competent, hardworking, a fast learner, reliable, and someone who takes initiative.

The successful intern will be rapidly upskilled to perform designs using all of the following vendor suites of engineering software tools:

• AutoDesk Revit software
• Navisworks
• AutoDesk BIM 360 Construction Management Software
• IES Building Energy Modeling Software

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will be upskilled to perform the following modeling and engineering designs tasks:

• HVAC Mechanical Designs, based on client requirements and specifications
• Air/fluid/heat Flow calculation software and analysis
• Heat Load calculations
• Preparation of tender documents and the tender processes
• Site monitoring and visiting sites as required
• Researching and driving technological innovation through Building Information Management (BIM)

Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum B. Tech or BSc / BEng Degree (Mechanical or Mechatronic)
• Must be MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint and AutoCAD proficient.
• 0-1 year experience related to HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air-conditioning) Mechanical design on commercial or industrial projects advantageous
• Registered as a candidate engineer with ECSA advantageous
• Experience in a consulting environment, after graduation advantageous
• Experience on the software packages Revit, HAP, IES, Naviswork, BIM360 advantageous
