A Manufacturing company based in Parow Cape Town is looking for a Trainee Draughtsman to join their team.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 with mathematics.
- Tertiary education in Mechanical Engineering field would be an advantage.
- Must be able to draw using SolidWorks.
- Must be able to work independently and sometimes under pressure.
- Self-motivated with a creative and innovative mind.
- Reading and understanding dimensioned mechanical drawings and making precise measurements are important.
- Must have the ability to work independently and complete various task within the specified time.
- Must be a team player, as the company takes pride in being a team to make sure tasks get completed to the highest of standards.
- Strictly follow manufacturing procedures.
- Must have good people skills & well-groomed to assist in future office position including working with customers.
The trainee draughtsman will be initially required to work in the workshop as a CNC operator, operating CNC milling & CNC turning machines. This will allow the trainee to get familiar with our manufacturing processes and quality control.
Responsibilities:
Once the confidence and skills are developed, the trainee draughtsman’s job function will be:
- Receiving parts that will need to be reversed engineered.
- Scanning & measuring parts using in house CMM and other general measuring instruments (Training on CMM will be arranged).
- Generating 2D drawings & 3D models using SolidWorks (Training on SolidWorks will be arranged for advance levels)
- Developing, documenting and updating a manufacturing process for parts.
- Sourcing of raw materials required for manufacturing of parts.
- Ensuring the quality of manufacturing is at the highest level.
