The internship programme provides recently qualified graduates with an opportunity to gain work experience in the mining and minerals sector through structured on-the-job training with the company in order to improve their chances of finding meaningful employment within the sector.
For the duration of this programme, interns must complete a structured two-year training and work exposure programme.
Training will be in line with the requirements as set out by the MQA and include on-the-job training and exposure, technical skills as well as soft skills training.
Disciplines/Fields of Study:
Graduate Internship Program available for the recently qualified graduates in the following disciplines:
- Metallurgical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
Responsibilities:
In this role you will be responsible for;-
- The incumbent will enter a student internship program with the MQA and will obtain working experience in their qualification discipline field at Glencore Boshoek Smelter.
- The candidate will undergo practical training and exposure over a two-year period at the premises of the company
- Compliance with the company’s HSECQ system is essential.
- Ensuring implementation of management decisions, legal requirements, and the company standards/policies
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Must have completed appropriate degree in the field of discipline specified above
- Computer Literate (MS Office)
- Proficient in English written language
- Achievement driven, accurate and timeous completion of assignments (result driven)
- Ability to function independently with good interpersonal skills
