AJP Group is a family owned business consisting of some 20 corporate entities (est. 1994). Its primary business is the retail of food and liquor, coupled with a medium-sized retail property component.
The businesses are mostly based in the Eastern districts of the Ekurhuleni Metropolis in the province of Gauteng South Africa
We are looking for a young individual who is eager to learn and gain on the job experience in the Human Resources department.
Purpose:
To perform various administrative tasks and support our HR department’s daily activities whilst learning about the daily operations of a payroll & HR department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in organizing company events
- Screen resumes/CVs and schedule interviews with suitable candidates.
- Gather payroll information and update employee files.
- Respond to staff queries regarding leave balances, policies, benefit, pay queries and other HR related matters.
- Track progress, deadlines, and priorities of all projects.
- Proofread HR documents including audits, marketing information, and handbooks.
- Ensure that all HR and payroll filing is up to date.
- Upload all HR and payroll documents onto PSiber.
- Update organograms and store breakdowns.
- And any other duties, as assigned by the Human Resources Manager, in line with the role.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Matric
- Tertiary qualification in;-
- Human Resource Management
- Or studying towards a degree in Human Resource Management
- Or a related field.
- Some experience in HR administration would be an advantage but is not a requirement.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent attention to detail
- Very good planning, organising and time-management skills
- Action-oriented
- Able to maintain a very high degree of confidentiality
- Strong administrative skills
