Maintaining a secure and reliable supply chain and ensuring that the right products reach the right destinations safely in agreed timelines. Work closely with client, colleagues and third parties to ensure smooth operations to deadlines. This must be done in terms of the Company’s standards policies and procedures and should ensure that the highest level of professional service is provided to clients, suppliers, agents and other service providers at all times.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Forwarding:
- Register Indent on CargoWise with as much information as possible. Ensure clients order is used.
- Monitor or record locations of goods in transit.
- Arrange for payment of freight charges.
Clearing:
- Arrange payment of freight and other charges or collection of payment on behalf of the client.
- Quality documentation to be completed and uploaded onto CargoWise to ensure process efficiency and effective service.
- Communication with internal and external clients finalising details regarding shipment.
- Complete customs checklist on every file.
- Regular status updates with Customs department to ensure release of cargo.
- Communicate with shipping line regarding responsibilities of clearing, storage and demurrage.
- Requesting Arrival Notifications and or changes in a timely manner to ensure pre-clearance of cargo.
- Accurate registration of shipments on CargoWise system.
Desired Experience & Qualification:
- BCom in Logistics or Supply Chain
