Johannesburg – Former President Jacob Zuma is set to meet with ANC’s top 6 whilst he’s refusing to appear at the state capture of inquiry.
Zuma was supposed to appear at the Zondo commission from Monday, the 15th of February 2021 until Friday, the 19th of February 2021The former SA president made it clear that he will not make the appearance as long as Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo’s the chairperson at the inquiry.
Despite his despise for the law, ANC decided to send its top six to go and meet with Zuma, the talk or reason behind the meeting is not known thus far.
The scheduled meeting is announced by ANC secretary-general Ace Magashule, but he didn’t the date, time and venue of meeting.
“As the top six, the national executive committee has mandated us and we have interacted with President Zuma to have an engagement, a meeting, which all of us have been actually looking forward to have,” said Magashule.
“So that meeting will take place, so I’m sure after all the proper arrangements have been made, we will inform you that such a meeting will actually take place. That’s a meeting which is necessary and important for the ANC,” Magashule added.
Magashule’s facing corruption charges, his case has been postponed to the 11th of August, he’s expected to appear at the Bloemfontein High Court.
Magashule says he’s innocent as he did no wrongdoing during his term as the Free State Premier.
