Johannesburg – Former President Jacob Zuma fails to meet Constitutional Court deadline to challenge the Zondo commission contempt case.

Zuma failed to appear at the Zondo commission which led to the application of contempt thereof in the biggest court of the country, which tstated that Zuma’s failure to appear before such court, might lead to his two years imprisonment.

From the 19th of November 2020, Zuma’s been failing or in denial to appear at the state inquiry commission.

Zuma’s lawyer suggested that his client will appear in the state inquiry to answer to his charges, instead of going to jail.

Zuma was anticipated to appear before the ConCourt as required to file answering affidavits, if any, but neither him showed up nor his lawyer furnished any notice exhibiting the opposing of the contempt of Zondo commission.

The police and Hawks did not file any information to Zuma’s arrests as required.

The Constitutional Court will hear the inquiry’s application on the 25th of March 2021.
