Truck knocked down five cars in Mokopane, burst into flames and claimed six lives

Wednesday night, a truck hit five vehicles claiming six lives, including of four pedestrians in Mokopane, Limpopo.

From six people who lost their lives in the incident, also include the truck driver and passenger who were burned beyond recognition when the truck hit a Capitec Bank building which caught fire.

This incident happened at the corner of Thabo Mbeki and Retief streets.

According to the statement from the Limpopo Transport and Community Safety MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya’s office, one personally was left in a critical situation after succeeding to flee a burning car, and the cause of the accident is the failure of the truck to brake.

“I am worried about the increasing number of of fatal crashes where even people are burnt beyond recognition”, said MEC Lerule-Ramakhanya when she was sending her heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased.

The MEC has earnestly urged motorists to be cautious on the road and always obey the speed limit signs.
