Trevor Noah announced as 2021 63rd GRAMMY Awards host

Jane Furse – South African born genius comedian, 2020 GRAMMY Awards nominee and US-based “The Daily Show” host, Trevor Noah is announced by the Recording Academy on Tuesday morning, the 24th of November 2020 as the 2021 GRAMMY Awards’ 63rd awards ceremony host.

This didn’t come as a surprise to many as such is anticipated for the globally-loved comedian. The 2021 GRAMMYs will mark the first time the GRAMMY-nominated comedian will host.

Inasmuch as this is a great opportunity for Noah, it is a great one to South Africa as it is the first time for a South African to host such a humongous event. Noah made a joke in a statement as a response to the announcement.

“Despite the fact that I am extremely disappoint that the GRAMMYs have refused to have me sing or be nominated fir Best Pop Album, I am thriplled to be hosting this auspicious event,” Trevor said.

He went ahead as I quote, “I think as a one-time GRAMMY nominee, I am the best person to provide a shoulder to all the amazing artists who do not win on the night because I too know the pain of not winning the award! (This is a metaphorical shoulder, I’m not trying to catch Corona). Se you at the 63rd GRAMMYs!”

The Recording Academy showed excitement for designating Noah as the GRAMMYs host. “With a knack for keeping viewers engage and entertained, Trevor is the perfect choice to lead us through what’s sure to be an incredible evening full of music, unforgettable, unity and inspiration. He’s a dynamic host, comedian and personality, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to the GRAMMY sage as host of Music’s Biggest Night for the first time” said Harvey Mason Jr., Chair and Interim President/CEO of the Recording Academy, said.

We have seen Americans cheering in heart-warming words, congratulating Trevor for such an inspirational opportunity.

The 63rd GRAMMY Awards Premier Ceremony will be streamed live on Sunday. the 31st of January 2021 on GRAMMY.com at 03:00 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) / 12:00 p.m. Pacific Time (PT) / 10:00 p.m. South African Standard Time (SAST).
