Second arrest in attack of Waterberg District Mayor’s home

Polokwane – Limpopo police made a second arrest following the attack that took place at the Waterberg District Mayor’s home in February.

According to News24, police spokesperson Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said six people entered and robbed the mayor’s home on Sunday, the 14th of March 2021.

“Four unknown armed men accompanied by two women – driving in three cars – stopped at the gate of the mayor’s house and asked the security guard to see the mayor. But before he could respond, they attacked him, entered the house and also tied up everybody inside before they searched the house,” Ngoepe said.

A 35-year-old male was arrested in Gauteng on the day of the attack and the second suspect emerged to be a 34-year-old woman, she was in Lephalale on Tuesday.

Ngoepe said the suspects made a way with a Toyota Legend 45, and a security guard was injured and sent to hospital.
