Ngwaabe young boys cleaning the main road alongside Ga-Maphopha Moshate

Talane – Young boys aged between 16 and 18, playing young heroes as their main aim is to ensure that the Ngwaabe main road is clean as to shun car accidents.

This is something that our government through its district and local municipalities failed to ensure, like a place surrounded by big mines with such a road, so saddening.

Following the awake of Wednesday, these boys decided to clean the road with the hope of getting something minute in return, the major aim being to save lives as they told STUF News.

SOME QUESTIONS WERE POSED TO THESE HEROES;

  1. Why are you cleaning the road?

“We are cleaning the road because it is not looking good at all, we want to save lives as unnecessary accidents might emerge following our failure to clean it,” one of them responded when questioned by STUF News Reporter.

2. Why do you want to keep the road clean?

They laughingly answered as they made the assertions; “we are cleaning the road because we want to make money,” they were carrying a tin with which to make the collection of the money from motorists as the way of thanking them for their good service.

Irrespective of being in the pandemic, the second wave of Covid-19, these youngsters know lives matters as they took the most hard to take yet enticing decision of cleaning the road.

Ngwaabe’s blessed to have such brave and energetic young minds. Their work surely saved the lives of many, especially those heading the road at night.
