Miss SA 2020 Musida chooses to contest Miss World

Miss South Africa 2020 Shudufhadzo Musida announced her decision that she will be taking a routine difference from the one taken by Zozibini Tunzi last year, she’ll be contesting the Miss World, following SA Rolene Strauss who won Miss World 2014.

Tunzi won Miss SA 2019 and ventured Miss Universe 2019 as she won the title – the third SA woman to win the title, following Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters who won Miss Uniiverse 2017.

It is said that second runner-up Natash Joubert will be representing SA in the next Miss Universe.

Masida said she’s excited to go for Miss Universe as she’s following the footsteps of those who went before her.

“I am so excited to be going to Miss World, particularly as it celebrates a milestone anniversary, and following in the footsteps of those who have gone before me… It is an amazing opportunity and I can’t wait to represent this country and have the words ‘Miss South Africa’ blazoned across my chest. I want to do South Africa proud!’ said Musida.

On the other hand, Joubert expressed how she’s honoured to follow Tunzi’s footsteps.

“Never in a million years did I think a year back, as I watched our reigning Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi being crowned, that I would be chosen as the woman to go and defend the title and show the world how strong, powerful, diverse and unique South African women are… It’s been a Andre lifelong dream that I get to live out qnd will forever be grateful to the Miss SA organisation for granting me this opportunity,” said Joubert.

And for the first time SA will participate in Miss Supranational pageant, as SA first-runner-up Thato Mousehole, medical doctor from Klerksdor, Northwest., will be participating in the pageant.

“I feel like I’m being given the privilege of holding the pen that will write the history for South African women in this competition. I sm so recited to tepees enter my country in Poland next year, and I’m going to do my best to become the first person from this country to take the title,” said Mosehle.
