Jane Furse Tuesday morning traffic might lead to more accidents or traffic fines if Minister Fikile Mbalula does not address some shoddy work by traffic police there

Jane Furse – Following sunset, one of our reporters was at Jane Furse crossing to run some errands for STUF News. The traffic there, was disturbing and motorists couldn’t help it.

We strongly believe traffic officers are there for a reason, their absentia there might have caused a lot of pains. If this issue is not addressed, we foresee the escalation of road accidents, especially at congested or high populated places.

Jane Furse Crossing is stone’s through the Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality where traffic police serving places or areas comprehending Jane Furse, are located.

Avanza (Plazana) driver expressed how the failure of traffic police to regulate the traffic is costing them.

Recall, South Africa is trickling a second wave of Covid-19, of which requires people to be cautious yet the traffic isn’t regulated leading to congestion.

Few hours ago, Minister of Transport Fikile Mbalula said those thinking law enforcement are not vigilant or found interval 11pm and 4am, they must cease being of the perception.

“The deployment is visible, and it is everywhere and it s 24/7, and that is what we are doing different because most of the time, law enforcement work from [eh[ 8 to 4. But now we are working 24/7 [waya-waya]. So if you think that [eh] you will leave midnight at 12, and drive down to Durban, and you won’t find law enforcement, that is unfortunate because law enforcement is on the road and 24/7” said Mbalula.

He said since South Africa enter the second phase of peak travel period, they created a 20% decline target in fatalities, but on our side we see no extra effort from law enforcement to curbing fatalities for the year 2020 when contrasted to other years.

He also released a stats for fatalities for the period 1st to 20t of December 2020.

It is released that 690 people lost their lives due to road accidents, which is a 5.7% decline when contrasted to the same period last year (2020) as 732 deaths emanated from car crashes.

The aforesaid stats emerge to be somewhat disagreeing to the set percentage as places such as Jane Furse are not patrolled, this morning’s incident being a sound typify.

We foresee the escalation of traffic fines as well from the shoddy work of traffic police in the area, as well the discontinuation and impounding of vehicles due to the demeanour of traffic police not motorists.

In our attempt to curb what might result in road accidents, we have called upon the minister of transport to address befallen Jane Furse and other places where they are not reported, to kindly connect with us so that we will add to what we have now.
