Ga-Mogoasha – One South Africa (OSA) Movement leader Mmusi Maimane took to Twitter, his utterance of clarity towards the Democratic Alliance (DA) Members, who allegedly had the party losing the 2019 elections.
Maimane says in 2019 elections, DA did not lose because of him but because of DA leader John Steenhuisen and former DA leader Helen Zille.
Maimane made such assertions after Steenhuisen mentioned his name in Sunday Times.
OSA leader says there’s neither good nor bad African National Congress (ANC) and SA is been trickling within corruption since its inception.
“Let’s start with a core issue South Africa must accept. There is no good ANC and no bad ANC. We have seen corruption from both factions and we have seen 27 years of mismanagement and misappropriation of state resources,” said Maimane.
He even uploaded a video exhibiting what he said back there as he says “I said that before and I will say it again. It’s the ANC.”
Maimane says DA leader Steenhuisen’s opting for coalition with ANC simplu shows he’s [John Steenhuisen] unreservedly out of the opposition, this makes DA a faction of ANC.
“Today the DA is saying they are open to coalition with some factions of the ANC as long as Cyril Ramaphosa is the president. They are officially out of opposition and are now themselves a faction of ANC,” said Maimane.
He says DA’s opting for such coalition is “an admit of defeat” and “a recognition that they can’t grow.”
OSA leader says in order to take forth and grow a political party, the party officials or leaders must be honest with the people they lead, about the history of the country.
“To grow as a political party you must be honest with the people about the history of this country,”said Maimane. He added that, “privilege exists. We have to diversify the benches of parliament. We have to work on land equity and justice. We have to see people, their pain and we can’t be color blind.”
