Limpopo – Five people died following a four-vehicle collision on N1 South after a vehicle wanted to overtake on barrier line.
The accident involved an SUV, a truck and two sedans, the incident let to having both southbound lanes interval Kranskop Toll Plaza and the Modimolle off-ramp being closed.
Limpopo Transport Department’s Media Liaison Officer, Mike Maringa confirmed that five people lost their lives whilst three people were earnestly injured.
According to Maringa, the accident is the result of reckless driving and failure to heed road signs.

“Reckless and nrgligent driving has been cited as a possible cause for the accident, after the driver of one of the sedans involved, reportedly overtook on the barrier line and collided head-on with a truck. The truck then collided with two other vehicles,” said Maringa.
