Beitbridge border: Motsoaledi says army makes over 500 arrests daily

Talane – There are thousands of foreign nationals attempting to enter the borders of South Africa illegally almost everyday.

According to Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi, South African National Defense Force (SANDF) makes over 500 arrests daily for illegal entry into the borders of SA.

A cluster of law enforcement authorities at a roadblock close to the Beitbridge Border in Limpopo have, since this morning, arrested and deported multiple undocumented Zimbabweans.

Myriads of immigrants are undocumented as they enter SA illegally.

The Defense Force will be deploying helicopters whilst the Police would be in boats to patrol the Limpopo River as the strongest tactic to curb the illegal entry into the borders of SA.

Even though is in place where only cargos are allowed to enter the borders of SA, there’s a rampid increment of arrests in Limpopo at the Beitbridge border where Zimbabweans are arrested for their attempt to enter SA with relevant documents and of course failing to comply with the lockdown regulations.

Motsoaledi said more arrestd should be anticipated.
