Jane Furse – South Africans have been waiting to witness the motion of confidence against President Ramaphosa that was filed by the African Transformation Movement (ATM), the party leader put the motion on hold until further notice.
ATM leader says the motion is postponed following the refusal of the National Assembly Speaker Thandi Modise to let the motion take place in a secret ballot like the one of former president Jacob Zuma in 2017.

The party took to twitter, press release with the leader thereof together with his legal team. The press release says both the legal teams of the ATM and the Speaker gave their consent to the postponement of the no confidence of motion against President Ramaphosa.
The refusal to secret ballot escalated the matter to the Western Cape High Court where the court will be reviewing and dig deeper into the decision of the Speaker Modise to decline the secret ballot process.
The date of the motion would be revealed after the decision of the WC High Court’s decision on the matter as the proceedings thereof will be heard on the 3rd and 4th of February 2021.
