A man who was shot during Wits University fees protest identity’s revealed

Johannesburg – The identity of a 35-year-old man who was shot during Wits fees protest in Braamfontein is revealed.
The victim’s known as Mthokozisi Ntumba, who succumbed to life after being shot by police in nyala who, upon arrival at the protesters in Braamfontein near a clinic, discharged firearm as the way of dispersing the students.
The Witwatersrand University Vice-Chancellor Professor Zeblon Vilakazi told the media that the university have its own security officers who deal with protests merely whilst in the facade and/or vicinity of the institution, once outside, it’s no ‘longer the university’s responsibility..
Prof Vilakazi said the institution didn’t call the police on students, presumably the police just came and failed to deal with the protesters, I reckon that’s how nepotism-hired officers behave.
Minister of Police Bheki Cele exhibited disappointment in the continuous police brutality.
Cele visited the home of the deceased.
