Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality Mayor Cllr Minah Bahula ditches Jane Furse Residents

Jane Furse – The Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality Mayor, Councillor Minah Bahula fails to honour attending the mass meeting organised by the estranged residents following the dire shortage of water around Jane Furse.

The meeting was supposed to take place last Thursday, the early hours of the 26th day of November 2020, at the Pitch / Playground alongside Jane Furse’s New Hospital not far from Jane Furse’s Library, with the Councillor in question present to answer to the questions the mob might have.

Where Jane Furse Residents Fetch Water – STUF News

One of the Jane Furse’s residents who was present at the meeting, told STUF investigating reporter that Cllr Bahula didn’t show up at the meeting due to unknown reasons, and they share water with animals as they fect it to do dishes and laundry. The source told STUF News that the water they drink is bought in Jojo tank – they only use the water to drink as they do not have enough money to buy for washing purposes.

The community has been without water for over three (3) months and the municipality isn’t willing to bring solution to the matter as the councillor refused to show up as per agreement interval her and the community.

It is shocking to see such happening and no political leader isn’t willing to help or listen or commiserate with the community.

STUF News Team will contact the municipality on behalf of the community to find answers as to when the residents would be attended to, because they cannot keep sharing water with animals.
