McKenzie Dixon Attorneys based in Sherwood, Durban is looking for a Junior Attorney to join their team.
About the Law Firm:
McKenzie Dixon is a well-established law firm which has successfully managed client’s legal affairs for over 30 years. Peter Charles McKenzie was the founder of the firm. From 1986 to 1989, Mr McKenzie practiced under the name and style of Peter McKenzie & Co. In 1989, Mr McKenzie and Mr Kenneth Dixon formed a partnership and Peter McKenzie & Co became known as McKenzie Dixon Attorneys. Mr McKenzie, however, sadly passed away in 2007.
The firm was then run under the partnership of Mr Dixon and Mr Dudley Stilwell. Fatima Rasool Salajee joined the firm in 2007 to head up the Conveyancing and Estates Department.
Areas Of Law;-
- Litigation: The litigation department deals with all aspects which involve actual or potential court hearings in the Magistrates and High Court, either by action or application.
- Conveyancing: Buying, selling, and lease of immovable property is a complex legal process involving different parties. Let us assist you in making the process as hassle-free as possible.
- Commercial law: We use our experience, expertise and business mindedness to provide practical advice and draft contracts that are well structured and easily comprehensible
- Family law: We provide advice in all aspects of family law particularly issues relating to marriage, antenuptial contracts, divorce, custody, access and maintenance.
- Notarial work: Registration of Antenuptial Contracts, registration and cancellation of servitudes over property, Long term notarial lease agreements, registration of notarial bonds etc
- Wills: We offer advice and assistance in all aspects of estate planning. Legal services provided include drafting of Wills and Deeds of Trust, estate planning and winding up deceased estates.
- Criminal litigation: We represent clients in most criminal matters. We attend to after hour bail applications. We also attend to alternative dispute resolution on behalf of our clients to try and facilitate settlements and more…
- Debt Collection: Debt Collections have always been an integral part of the practice often being a stepping stone to litigation. Our aim in collections is speedy recovery with minimal loss to the client. Our skilled staff attend to pre-legal collections, legal collections and Enforcement services.
Requirements:
- LLB degree
- Admitted Attorney
- Must have sound knowledge and application of High Court and Magistrates Court practice
- Must be from Durban
- Availability: immediately
- Able to work independently, must be able to meet deadlines and good organisational skills
