Stefanutti Stocks Inland, Mining Services Discipline is currently seeking a dynamic, deadline driven, self-starter for the position of Jnr Safety Officer. The successful incumbent will be responsible for all site safety and environmental related matters and will act as facilitator and coordinator of the various activities. Strong client liaison skills are imperative.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential. Own transport is a pre-requisite. This position requires five years’ experience in the capacity of Safety Officer, three of which must have been in the construction/ mining industry.
Previous experience in maintaining ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems as well as previous exposure to, or experience in sound environmental practices on site will be an advantage.
Excellent knowledge of both the OHS Act and MHS Act is required. High level of accuracy in statistics and capturing thereof
Requirements:
- Grade 12, SAMTRAC or similar OHS Qualification.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction environment.
- Legal Liability.
- HIRA.
- Staff management and relevant labour legislation.
- SHEQ legislation and Implementation.
- Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety acts and regulations.
- Risk assessment.
- Incident, Accident, Risk Identification, and Investigation.
- Good Understanding of ISO and OHSAS.
- Mentoring.
- Registered as Construction Health & Safety Officer with SACPCMP.
