For this role, the suitable incumbent will be required to advise staff and management on disciplinary issues, attend CCMA and ensure compliance of company rules and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Consult and advise stores and all other areas of the business on IR matters, when required
- Advise on disciplinary steps to take when requested
- Draft charges or warnings
- Assist senior staff on the disciplinary investigation to prepare for the enquiry
- Draft formal documentation
- Follow each process through to completion
- Provide IR training when required
- Brief attorneys when required
Minimum Requirements:
- A three year qualification in HR/IR would be advantageous
- Minimum of one year CCMA arbitration experience
- A minimum of two years’ experience and exposure to labour relations and dealing with disciplinary and labour matters
- Full understanding of the South African Labour Relations Act and the Basic Conditions of Employment Law
- Be able to travel extensively
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to competently drive manual vehicles over long distances is essential
