UVU Africa invites unemployed graduates to apply for a 12-month Graduate Traineeship / Internship Programme 2024 / 2025.

The Ardagh Graduate Accelerator Programme, developed in collaboration with Ardagh, EXL and CAPACITI, offers a comprehensive 12-month journey for 35 participants to refine essential tech skills such as Cyber Security and SAP. This structured programme unfolds in two distinct 6-month phases: an initial bootcamp focusing on programming, data, Microsoft, and Cyber Security, followed by specialised pathways in SAP and Microsoft, Data and BI, or Cyber Security. Throughout the foundational phase, our dedicated Workplace and Career team ensures candidates are aligned with their strengths. While completion may lead to potential roles at Ardagh, meeting the programme’s exacting standards remains paramount. Through this initiative, CAPACITI reaffirms its commitment to empowering the youth.
This is a funded opportunity and the stipend value will be communicated to shortlisted candidates.
Academic Requirements:
- NQF Level 6 or higher qualification in an IT specialised stream, including;-
- Diploma or Degree in Software Engineering
- Diploma or Degree in Information Systems
- Diploma or Degree in Information Management (Data/SQL)
- Diploma or Degree in Information Communication Technology
- All applicants should have a qualification in an IT specialised stream.
Personal and Eligibility Criteria:
- Have no criminal record and a clean credit history.
- South African nationality.
- Between the age range of 18 to 35 years old.
- Be under or unemployed at the time of application.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team with collaborative goals and outcomes.
- Work experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Applicants should be able to demonstrate a keen knowledge and skill of various technologies and programming/scripting languages.
Commitment and Availability Conditions:
- Able to attend full-time training Monday to Friday.
- Able to commit to the full 12-month programme and committed to completing it.
- Be available from March 2024.
- Dedicated, committed, and willingness to learn.
Programme Duration:
The programme is delivered over 12 months, with 6 month accelerator training and 6 month specialisation training in SAP & Microsoft, Cyber Security and Data & BI Streams.
Programme Outcomes:
- Onboarding into the workplace for successful candidates upon meeting all training criteria.
- Exposure to real-world applications of technologies and understanding of organisational operations across various technical domains.
- Access to a broad network of field specialists and tech thought leaders.
- Receipt of certifications relevant to their technical stream for career advancement in the digital economy.
- Development of core job skills, self-regulation, financial literacy, and one-to-one mentorship from team members.
Development Areas:
- SAP training and certification options in the Official SAP environment
- Training in Microsoft Upskilling Universe – access to over 5 courses
- Exposure to CISO roles and methods through COMPTIA Cyber
- Advanced Data and Business Intelligence in partnership with EXL
