Turrim owns the TOWER brand that develops and manufactures a broad range of self-adhesive and signage products that make consumers lives easier in businesses, homes and schools.
The brand dominates its chosen market categories in Southern Africa (eight countries) and is now turning its attention to growing its brand story around the world.
The TOWER brand is currently seeking the services of an enthusiastic, creative and innovative Category Management Intern to assist the category manager/s with the intention of being coached into taking responsibility for their own category.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the management of a product category that has an exceptional opportunity for growth. The successful candidate will need to possess the skills to lead the execution of the current category strategy, whilst also gathering consumer and customer insights to inform the development of future growth strategies and profitable new product innovation required to take the category to the next level.
Snapshot of Role:
- Join a passionate team of marketing and sales professionals and assist in leading the development of the category, from strategy to execution including new product development to achieve the sales and profitability growth targets of the business.
- Through the interaction with consumers and the analysis of sales data, identify industry/category trends and consumer/customer insights to inform the category strategy and optimise brand performance and product sales.
- Successfully source/develop new product innovation and assist in leading the successful introduction and management of new products into market.
- Key focus on setting targets and KPI’s for activities. Track category progress monthly for future initiatives and business decisions.
- Work closely with Production, Technical, Logistics and Sales to ensure annual brand plan is implemented and ensure new product success.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills, driving the category forward through aligned annual plans, uniting cross functional teams behind common goals in order to achieve the category growth required.
- Gather information from local and international competitors.
- Conduct analysis to identify gaps in the category.
- Collaborate with Graphic Designer and internal digital department to develop consumer and trade marketing collateral.
- Assist in managing the launch of new products including the development of packaging and merchandising solutions.
Requirements:
- Technical Diploma/ Degree from a reputable educational institution
- 0 – 1 years’ experience in Brand, Product and/or Category Management
- Knowledge of Category Management, Marketing and Product principle
- Understanding and analysing data in order to make business recommendations.
