Sturdee Energy has opportunities for post graduate and recently qualified graduates interested in pursuing careers in renewable energy. The role offers the opportunity to dive straight into projects in Botswana, Namibia, South Africa.
The intern will support the Business Development, Technical and Finance Teams. The opportunity is for 8 -12 months on a full-time or part-time basis and based Johannesburg.
The Internship is great experience for ambitious, hard working person excited about renewable energy in Africa.
Responsibilities:
You will have the opportunity to gain experience and learn about;-
- Permitting and developing solar and wind projects from 1MW – 300MW
- Construction, financing, operation and maintenance of renewable energy projects
- Financial models, project budgets
- Energy markets in various African countries
- Technical project performance analysis
- Project finance and corporate finance
- Legal contracts and contracting structures
- Technical due diligence
- Business strategy
- Due diligence report writing
Qualifications and Experience:
- B or higher for Grade 12 Maths and English
- Preferably undergraduate degree BCom, BSc or Eng degree
- No experience is needed, but any prior experience in business development, technical development or financial management is beneficial.
Skills:
- Basic excel proficiency
