Administrator Internship

Location: Woodmead, Sandton, Gauteng, South Africa

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with department administration
• Work with orders coordinator with duties
• Opening orders
• Maintaining filling system for invoices

• Be a South African citizen (be able to produce a valid South African ID document)
• Be between the ages of 18-29
• Must be currently unemployed
• Must have no criminal record
• Must have completed a relevant tertiary qualification (National Diploma or Degree)
• Willing to be located in Bryanston

Assist with all the necessary task that are needed in the department

• Diploma / Degree Qualification in;-
  • Analytical Chemistry or
  • Chemical Engineering

Mechanical Engineer Trainee

Location: Greenstone Hill, Lethabong, Gauteng, South Africa

SGS Bateman is looking for a Mechanical Engineer Trainee in the  Engineering Department within the business.

The ideal candidate for this position will be registered under the YES 4 Youth Programme, therefore must be a South African Citizen and under the age of 30 years.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering: Mechanical
• You must be a South African Graduate and have completed all modules/credits for the qualification mentioned above with a minimum of 60%.
• Please indicate if you have completed the Practical 1 & Practical 2 on your CV.
• Qualifications obtained post -2018 will be preferred.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

• A Trainee Laboratory Manager is responsible to ensure the accreditation and Health and Safety regulations requirements are adhered to in and around the laboratory.
• A Trainee Laboratory Manager is responsible for ensuring the correct test methods are followed.
• A Trainee Laboratory Manager is responsible to adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.
• A Trainee Laboratory Manager is responsible to assist the technicians/ laboratory manager/ assistant laboratory manager with any job whether it is on site or inside the laboratory as per instruction from the authorized site supervisor /laboratory manager.
• A Trainee Laboratory Manager is responsible to perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by the authorized site supervisor/laboratory manager and regional manager.
• A Trainee Laboratory Manager to ensure he familiarize him/herself with the industry specifications and standards including but not limited to COLTO, TG2, SANAS

• Grade 12 / NQF4 or an additional two years relevant experience for each year of schooling below grade 12
• Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering / Geotechnical Engineering and/or proven years of laboratory, knowledge, skills and experience sufficient to be recognized as a qualification through –   Recognition of Prior Learning.
• Proficiency in various types of computer software (full MS office package Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Experience:

• Competent and qualified to do all tests in all laboratory divisions including soils, asphalt, seals, concrete / aggregate
  • Do all calculations in full related to the tests mentioned above
• Control laboratory activities such as quality control under supervision.

• Competent and qualified to do quality laboratory control and implementation
• Competent and qualified to supervise and execute all field work
• Be familiar with COLTO
• Knowledge of Health and Safety
• Competent and qualified to do all tests (TMH 1 and SANS) in all laboratory divisions including soils, asphalt, seals, concrete / aggregate
• Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook)
