Role Purpose:
Accurately process and support the Marketing team with the coordination of financial information to enable business processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review financial data, consolidate and report within area of responsibility.
- Monitor and track the allocated budget for projects and brand shops and ensure that projects are completed within budget parameters and the department is adequately budgeted for.
- Drive an understanding and improvement of brand shop financials and maximisation of stock movement inclusive of sales trend analyses, and recommendations for improvements.
- Process daily and monthly financial transactions in line with procedure and within agreed timeframes, to ensure timely reconciliations and accurate month-end reporting.
- Provide input into monthly reconciliations and resolve any outstanding queries.
- Make recommendations on areas for improvement based on reporting insights to mitigate financial risks.
- Investigate and resolve queries related to financial transactions.
- Maintain accurate financial records of financial transactions processed and ensure that the correct level of authority has authorised the document.
- Contribute to the audit process and resolve any audit queries within deadlines.
- Facilitate and manage the budgeting process and evaluate budget information received and discuss errors or omissions with stakeholders.
- Proactively forecast expenses and identify solutions to improve and mitigate risks.
- Contribute to continuous innovation through the development, sharing and implementation of new ideas.
- Continuously develop own expertise in terms of professional, industry and legislation knowledge.
- Develop and maintain productive and collaborative working relationships with peers and stakeholders.
- Conduct a trends analysis based on financial insights obtained from the brand shops and present and forecast solutions to enhance cost effectiveness and increase operational efficiency.
- Process journals within agreed timeframes, in adherence to guidelines.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Financial Management or Accounting or related qualification
- 1-2 years’ relevant experience in financial administration (Desirable)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of relevant accounting principles
