Duties and Responsibilities:
- Dive deep into extensive mining data sets, applying statistical analysis and machine learning techniques to uncover actionable insights and improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data science challenges and develop innovative solutions.
- Develop and implement predictive models and algorithms to optimize mineral processing and production processes.
- Utilize your expertise in data visualization to create compelling reports and dashboards, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in data science and mineral processing technology, and contribute innovative ideas to enhance mineral processing practices.
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in;-
- Data Science,
- Computer Science,
- Chemical Engineering,
- Metallurgical Engineering,
- Mechanical Engineering,
- Electrical Engineering,
- Industrial Engineering,
- Or a related field.
Experience and Skills Requirements:
- Up to one year’s work experience will be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and predictive modeling techniques.
- Experience in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL will be advantageous.
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js will be advantageous.
- Familiarity with mineral processing concepts, processes, and data sets.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in a mineral processing context.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex findings to diverse stakeholders.
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning and a genuine passion for leveraging data science in the mineral processing industry.
- English language proficiency.
- Must be a South African Citizen.
