Intern – GiS Analyst

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide maps and analysis using mapinfo tool for sales department or operations department
- Analyse data and make recommendation to the sales department
- Ensure accuracy and upkeep of demographic data
- Ensure accuracy and upkeep of geo-coding database of retailers
- Ensure accuracy and upkeep of geo-coding data of Media24 properties
- Attend client workshops and appointments in conjunction with sales department representing the media intelligence department
- Keep abreast with industry changes with regards to data, mapping,
- Attend industry events and give feedback
- Assist in research projects
Knowledge:
- Matric with suitable qualifications/or experience (or equivalent knowledge & skills)
- GiS skills would be advantages
Ad Operations Intern
Location: Cape Town, Western Cape South Africa
Closing Date: 13 May 2022
Adspace24, a division of Media24 in Cape Town has a vacancy for an Ad Operations Intern. The purpose of this position is to assist in managing the online advertising campaign trafficking across the division’s portal.
Key Responsibilities/Outputs:
- Assist in advertising campaign trafficking through the company’s ad-serving technology platform
- Set up and implement advertising campaigns
- Ensure advertising set-ups and click-through URLs are correct at all times during the campaign period
- Assist in managing and optimising campaign performance through continuous monitoring of campaign delivery
- Achieve the minimum required turnaround time for campaign implementation and trafficking
- Assist with reporting requirements as requested by campaign manager and clients
- Assist with sourcing campaign images, artwork, or final material from advertisers
- Assist Campaign Managers to ensure all documentation, reports are correctly saved in electronic filing system
- Assisting with the companies booking order system, booking campaigns, optimisations and taking screenshots
Qualifications and Experience:
- High school degree or equivalent; must be enrolled in an accredited university/college program
- Must be 18 years of age
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-directed and able to work without supervision
- Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
Journalist Internship/Joernalis Internskap
Location: Worcester, Western Cape, South Africa
Closing Date: 20 May 2022
Breede Valley Media, a proud source of news and information in the Breede River Valley, offers an exciting opportunity in their office in Worcester for an internship.
The successful candidate must be a fast learner; have good writing skills in Afrikaans and English; must have a driver’s license and be willing to work irregular hours.
The internship is for six months and will start as soon as possible.
Main Responsibilities:
- Write and upload news reports and articles on strict deadlines
- Adhere to the content standards, quality and style as set out in the publication
- Do research for articles
- Upload school news and other community news articles to the system
- Occasionally attend events, take photos and write articles
- Supporting role for permanent journalists
