Lasec SA is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Instrumentation product management team based in our Cape Town head office, embracing the opportunities presented by our well-established portfolio of scientific and laboratory products, to support our customers and further grow our access to markets in South Africa and the rest of sub-Saharan Africa.
You will be supported and mentored by senior product managers and the broader Lasec team to fulfil duties that cover all elements of product management including technical support, brand management, supplier management, procurement planning as well as customer and sales team interaction.
The successful candidate will be supported and mentored by the Industrial Division Manager as well as the broader Lasec team to fulfil duties that cover all elements of application support and product management including technical support, brand management, supplier management, procurement planning as well as customer and sales team interaction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for management of allocated product portfolio related to products, suppliers and categories covered.
- Optimally positioning and marketing Lasec value proposition in terms of allocated product portfolio and related products and services in targeted markets in South Africa and the rest of Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Use initiative, research and available resources to provide technical support and product recommendations to sales teams and customers for queried products.
- Support demand planning and purchasing strategy.
- Build, develop and/or maintain positive supplier relations for allocated products.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science qualification
- Preference for candidate with laboratory experience
- Commercial affinity for understanding business basics.
- Ability to function independently, and as part of a team.
- Must have the ability to produce results while working with multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- A good understanding and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in English which is the primary business language.
Remuneration will be discussed at final interview stage.
