Job Title: Intern – Industrial Application Specialist

Location: Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa

Lasec SA is looking to recruit a dynamic individual to join our Industrial Division as an Intern Application Specialist. Based in our Cape Town head office, the individual should embrace the opportunities presented by our expanding portfolio of quality control and production process instrumentation. The division focus on beverage bottle filling and production, pharmaceutical quality control and custom design and installation projects.
The successful candidate will be supported and mentored by the Industrial Division Manager as well as the broader Lasec team to fulfil duties that cover all elements of application support and product management including technical support, brand management, supplier management, procurement planning as well as customer and sales team interaction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the management both technically and commercially of allocated product portfolio related to products, suppliers and categories covered.
- Use initiative, research and available resources to provide technical support and product recommendations to sales teams and customers for queried products.
- Provide commercial support to Industrial Division Manager with costings, procurement recommendations based off established demand planning.
- Explore new opportunities for creative technical solutions to the industrial customer base.
Requirements:
- National Diploma in;-
- Electrical Engineering,
- Mechanical Engineering
- Or similar.
- Preference for candidate with experience integrating equipment with software.
- Commercial affinity for understanding business basics.
- Must have the ability to produce results while working with multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in English which is the primary business language.
- A strong work ethic and high attention to detail.
- Willingness for travel locally and internationally, if required.
Remuneration will be discussed at final interview stage.
