iX engineers is seeking a Process Engineer to join the Process Team within the Water Department in Pretoria. This person will be responsible for assisting with the design, drawing, tender adjudication and construction monitoring of water and effluent treatment projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, drawing development and commissioning assistance of water and effluent treatment including:
- Municipal and mining/industrial effluent treatment process design,
- Development of mass balances and Process Flow Diagrams,
- Development of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams,
- Compilation of process data sheets,
- Development of functional specifications and control philosophies and
- Pipelines and pump stations design.
- Undertake planning, engineering design work and supervision of commissioning as required and as directed by Project Leaders or Engineers.
- Ensure all designs and drawings are properly documented and checked under supervision of Project Leader or Engineers.
- Achieve minimum financial productivity on all projects.
- Ensure effective systems are implemented for good record keeping – files, reports, drawings, commissioning progress tracking etc.
- Liaise with other staff working on projects at all levels.
- Assist with commissioning support, including punching, preparation of various levels of completion certificates and “as built” drawings, etc.
- Ensure suitability of technical proposals under supervision of Project Leader or Engineers.
- Compile letters, reports and tender documentation for approval by Project Leader.
- Provide service excellence.
- Compliance with Quality Management System.
- Contribution to efficiency and effectiveness of sector.
Requirements:
- BSc/BTech – Chemical/Process Engineer.
- MSc/MTech – Chemical/Water Utilisation Engineering will be an advantage.
- Experience in water and effluent treatment design will be an advantage.
- Competency in Biowin, Winflows, Wave will be an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Valid Driver’s Licence.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- The employee has well developed general technical skills.
- Takes direction from and supports intermediate and senior staff to achieve project and business goals.
- Displays personal leadership in completion of work tasks.
- Makes basic decisions with input from intermediate and senior staff.
- Contributes to projects with a major focus on data collection and processing with an increasing role in analysis and interpretation.
- Contributes to sections of reports including description of investigations, results and analysis.
- Client focus is both internal and external.
