Duration: 24 months
Salary: R13 000,00 monthly stipend
Location: Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa (Head Office)

Overall Job Purpose: Responsible for conducting investigations relating to the execution of geo-scientific research and providing additional support, research, and development work in supporting the mandate of the Council for Geoscience, in particular, linked to minerals and energy.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform geo-scientific investigations or research that may involve mapping, gathering of data, development of geological models, compilation of maps and reports, sampling, laboratory and field
- parameter measurement analysis work.
- Perform basic geo-scientific investigations or research under guidance and supervision.
- Assist with the collecting, auditing, digitizing, geo-rectification, and cataloging of historical and legacy geoscience data and information.
- Assist with project proposal development.
- Participation in statutory and commercial projects and ensures that work is conducted within the required project-specific standards.
- Ensure that work is conducted within the required ISO standards being developed and prevailing national standards, norms, best practices, and guidelines.
- Gives formal scientific or technical presentations of papers or reports, internally to other staff members and externally with guidance at conferences or symposia.

- Willingness to work outside the normal office hours.
Educational Qualification
- BSc. (Honours) in Geoscience or a related Earth Sciences discipline.
- 0-2 years of working experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Applicability for SACNASP registration will be an added advantage.
