The Role

The Intern will report directly to the Project Engineer and will provide technical support to the Project Development team, by way of supporting yield studies, analysing technical reports and grid integration studies, and supporting EPC tender processes for utility scale Renewable Energy projects. They will also support the design & implementation of the off-grid installations.

Job Responsibilities:

Support the analysis of grid integration studies, Bill of Materials, technical reports, engineering designs and drawings, and yield studies to provide inputs to the development cycles of projects.
Provide support for procurement processes for EPC and O&M scopes of work.
Support yield simulations and energy resource assessments for solar PV, hybrid and wind technologies.
For off-grid solar PV projects:
Support client engagements, pre-feasibility assessments, high level proposal compilation, client presentation, detailed design & costing, compilation of Bills of Quantities and pricing, and final contract negotiations
Oversee and manage project implementation, including project management, weekly site meetings & reports, risk assessment & mitigation and client interfacing, to deliver on-time and under-budget project implementation

- Support engineering technical due diligence
- Where needed, support the Asset Management Engineering team with operational solar and wind plant issues.

Candidate Requirements

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

B.Eng or BSc(Eng) student in Electrical, Mechatronic or Electronic Engineering (other streams can be motivated)
Ability to understand engineering design drawings and documentation
Knowledge of relevant simulation programmes (PV*Sol, PV Syst) would be highly advantageous.
