Purpose:
- Executes a variety of business, site, and plant/department quality tasks and activities, as defined in established procedures or project plans, to enable the business to profitably meet customer and product regulatory requirements related to the quality management system.
- Helps promote a customer-focused culture within a plant with complex interfaces and/or requirements and enhances the front-line knowledge and accountability for quality.
- Requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities.
- May act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.
Responsibilities / Duties:
- Supports routine day-to-day implementation and maintenance tasks related to the plant quality system.
- Supports plant-level management of change activities related to product quality.
- Supports plant quality training related to key quality system requirements to meet customer and product regulatory needs as well as the use of supporting tools and processes to achieve plant and business quality goals.
- Monitors the effectiveness of the plant’s quality management system. Supports strategic improvement opportunities.
- Supports product quality problem-solving efforts through the execution of data mining, traceability investigations, and batch reviews.
- Ensures that product returns and non-conforming products are appropriately managed to prevent unintended use, including disposition.
- Ensures plant Operating Discipline systems, procedures, and guidelines are improved and optimized to meet plant and business quality system requirements, as appropriate.
- Hosts customer and other quality-related external audits, in cooperation with commercial and other functions.
Experience:
- Short-Cycle Tertiary Degree (i.e. Associate’s Degree) in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) field plus manufacturing or other related experience.
- Students would complete tasks as outlined by the tertiary institute. Log Book tasks must be completed with support from the leadership team.
- Bi-monthly reviews would be held with the training coordinator and leadership to review the progress of tasks from the tertiary institute log book and the site projects assigned to the intern.
