Role Purpose
- The Breeding Graduate Trainee Programme has been designed to give exposure within the Breeding Organisation.
- This programme will mean an opportunity to see the diverse operations of the Bayer Africa Crop Science Breeding organisation- developing the brands that give us our global strength, and how we manage our R& D pipelines and networks set new standards in sustainable product development.
- Our aim is to develop our future leaders with a functional talent programme through a central assignment. The Trainee programme contains projects that will challenge you, mentors who will help you to grow, and training to fast-track your personal development
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Engage in an 18 Month Rotational Cycle.
- During the Rotational Program you will be given a deep insight into the various functions managing the Africa Bayer Breeding organisation.
- Exposure to all Breeding functions (Product Development, Seed Production, Field Testing, Data Science).
- You will learn End to End Breeding workflows and get a high-level overview. You will be assigned various tasks responsibilities and will work on specific projects.
- You will be given (provided) a structured learning plan with specific focus areas.
- Throughout the program you will be mentored by an experienced manager, who will help you and give you feedback on your performance and agreed development goals and actions with you.
- You will be able to develop practical thinking and soft skills by working closely with the different teams.
- The program will allow you to build a business acumen by exposing you to several business functions and units
- The program will also focus on high level strategic thinking development.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Post-Graduate Qualification in;-
- Plant Breeding,
- Plant Sciences,
- Genetics
- And related qualifications.
- Working Experience – 0-2 Years.
- Fluency in English
- Social & intercultural skills enabling you to work in a multicultural environment
- Enthusiasm for agricultural sciences
- Computer literacy at intermediate and above level
