Purpose of Position:
- To learn how to process specimens according to set criteria and standards and to qualify and register as a Cytogenetics Technologist according to HPCSA criteria.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Health Sciences Medical Laboratory Science (Required)
- National Diploma or BTech Degree in Biomedical Technology (Required)
Required Experience:
- Exposure to a laboratory environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath.
- Perform accreditation and Quality Control related tasks to ensure standards are upheld.
- Receive and process specimens in order to ensure efficient delivery of results.
- Successfully complete the Cytogenetics board exam within the required timeframe.
