Purpose of Position:
To prepare, analyse, result and storage of routine and urgent specimens in the Chromatography section of the Esoteric Sciences Laboratory. This position requires the successful completion of a 24 months HPCSA internship in the discipline Clinical Biochemistry
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Honours, MSc Degree in;-
- Biochemistry
- Chemistry
- Physiology
- Analytical Chemistry
- Chemical Pathology or
- Pharmacology
Required Experience:
- Experience in pathology laboratory environment,
- Knowledge: Meditech system,
- Knowledge: MS Excel,
- Knowledge: MS Word
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath, Maintain good laboratory practice in order to ensure a clean and safe work environment, Perform administration tasks in order to ensure effective administration systems in the laboratory,
- Process of bench work in the laboratory in order to ensure efficient processing of specimens,
- Receive and store of specimens in order to ensure effective specimen flow in the laboratory,
- Use the laboratory computer system in order to ensure accurate receiving of specimens and to provide assistance with result enquiries
