We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Events & Logistics Intern to join our team.In this role, you will play a key role in the planning and execution of a variety of events and be responsible for ensuring that logistics are smoothly managed. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the events industry and build your skills in event planning and logistics.
Objectives of the Role:
- Researching and booking venues.
- Arranging transportation and accommodation for attendees.
- Assisting in the planning and logistics of events, including venue selection, vendor management, and budget tracking.
- Assisting in the setup and breakdown of events, including setting up audio-visual equipment, arranging decorations and signage, and managing transportation and parking.
- Coordinating food and beverage services.
- Providing on-site support during events, including troubleshooting and problem-solving as needed.
- Assisting with event evaluations and post-event wrap-up, including data collection and reporting.
- Communicating with attendees, vendors, and staff to ensure a smooth event experience.
- Performing administrative tasks, such as maintaining event schedules, managing databases, and preparing reports.
- Prepare event materials, such as agendas, signage, and presentations in collaboration with Media & Communications.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program or recently graduated with a bachelors degree in;-
- Event Management,
- Hospitality,
- Or a related field.
Competencies:
- Excellent organisational, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Should have an interest in event planning and a willingness to learn about all aspects of event production and logistics.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Familiar with event planning and logistics.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong time management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to handle confidential information and maintain a professional demeanour.
- Passion for communications and media, with a commitment to staying up to date on industry trends and developments.
