Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI) invites applicants to apply for a 12-month Graduate / Internship Programme 2022 / 2023.
Location: Mtubatuba, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa
Closing Date: 24 April 2022
The purpose of this job is to get exposure to the creation, updating, maintenance and validation of AHRI clinical and population research databases. This includes learning and understanding of research data management procedures aimed at maintaining a high level of clinical and population level data quality. The intern must also learn and understand processes involved in the provision of computerised reports of the data. The position is based at Somkhele campus.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- BSc Hons in;-
- Statistics,
- Mathematics,
- any database specialist degree
- or a closely related subject
- A resident of any of the research communities of the Africa Health Research Institute’s Population Intervention Programme Study Area
Minimum Experience:
- Some experience in data extraction and manipulation done as part of the BSc Hons
- Entry-level experience in using Microsoft Query Language or any database query language
Competencies / Skills:
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Accuracy and precision
- High computer literacy
- Report writing
- Must be able to work under pressure
