As part of fostering a culture of entrepreneurship among the country’s youth in order to reduce the high levels of unemployment; the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation (the Foundation) seeks to foster a community of responsible, high impact entrepreneurs in order to achieve an equitable South Africa flourishing with meaningful employment.
We are searching for a dynamic individual who will support the monitoring and evaluation activities of the Foundation. The purpose of this role is to support a newly qualified individual as they begin their career in monitoring and evaluation (M&E).
Objectives of Role:
- Support M&E framework development
- Assist in the development of monitoring and evaluation framework.
- Collaborate with M&E Specialist to refine indicators, data collection methods, and reporting mechanisms.
- Data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Contribute to the collection of quantitative and qualitative data through surveys, interviews, and other methods.
- Contribute to data analysis under guidance of M&E Specialist to derive meaningful insights and trends that inform decision-making and programme improvements.
- Assist in the preparation of reports on programme and project performance.
- Learning and Development
- Engage in training sessions and workshops to build skills in monitoring and evaluation, where relevant.
- Take initiative to learn about new tools, methodologies, and best practices in the field.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Identification with the Foundation’s Vision, Mission, and Ethos
- Postgraduate (Honours or Master’s) degree in relevant field – e.g., Monitoring and Evaluation, Economics, International Development.
- Quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic data analysis tools (e.g., MS Excel, Stata)
- Strong interest in monitoring and evaluation, with a desire to learn and contribute to the field
- Research or M&E experience advantageous
