Job Purpose:
- Assist with other maintenance activities as and when required under supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Packing and Stacking
- Stack correct product, and configure according to plan.
- Comply with pallet configuration and stack and palletise in line with procedures.
- Check quality and quantity.
- Ensure compliance to quality and food safety standards
- Ensure all cases are date coded
Feeding Packaging Materials
- Pull and prepare packaging materials for production.
- Ensure that the exact number and type of material is allocated as per the requirement.
- Ensure that packaging is free of damage.
- Report material shortages and non-conformance to quality standards immediately.
Process Support
- Provide support on plant equipment under supervision.
- Advise Machine Operator when actions need to be taken.
- Assist with other maintenance activities as and when required under supervision.
- Work accurately, safely and efficiently according to procedures, instructions and schedules.
Safety Compliance and House Keeping
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and/or work area.
- Comply with company safety and quality procedures and instruction.
- Contribute to a safe and more efficient operating environment and continuous quality improvement in work area.
- Comply with emergency procedures during emergency situations
Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications
- Grade 12/N3, Senior Certificate (NQF 4/10)
- Proficiency in English Language
- Literate (reading comprehension) with basic numerical skills
Experience
- FMCG factory environment experience would be advantageous Knowledge
- Production line process flow (from input to output)
- Procedures: Quality, Food Safety, Health & Safety, Maintenance, Disciplinary Code and Policy Procedure
Skills
- Attention to detail with regards to accuracy
- Methodical
- Strong procedural aptitude
- Ability to learn and aquire new knowledge and skill
- Communication
- Conscientious in pulling and preparing materials for production, packing, stacking, bar coding etc.
- Computer literate (advantage)
