Are you a South African citizen with a passion for geosciences? The Council for Geoscience (CGS) is offering exciting bursaries for undergraduate and postgraduate studies in various fields. If you meet the eligibility criteria, this is your chance to receive financial support and gain valuable experience in geosciences.
Fields of Study:
The CGS awards fulltime bursaries in the following fields of study:
- Geology
- Engineering Geology
- Geophysics
- Hydrogeology (focus on groundwater modelling)
- Geochemistry
- Economic Geology
- Environmental Science
- Geo-informatics
- Remote sensing
- Computational Geosciences
- Mineral Economics
- Mining Seismology
NB: Only research topics defined by the CGS will be funded.
The bursary covers;-
- Registration and tuition fees
- Accommodation and Meals
- Prescribed Books
- Excursions/research
- Once off laptop allowance for first-time bursars.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Not employed and available for vocational work during studies and work back upon completion of studies, when required.
- Planning to enroll full-time at a South African institution of higher learning for the 2024 academic year.
- Have completed Grade 12 with an achievement of Level 6 or higher in both Mathematics and Physical Science.
- Be a registered fulltime student at a South African institution of higher learning.
- For students currently at an institution of higher learning, must have passed all the modules of the previous year/semester.
