Job Title: Learner Technician Microbiology

Purpose of Position:
- To perform bench work according to set criteria and standards on all benches in the Microbiology
Laboratory and media department.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 with English, Biology (Life Sciences) and Mathematics (Required),
- HPCSA Registration in Relevant Register and Practice Field (Required)
Required Experience:
- Knowledge: HPCSA regulations,
- Knowledge: Meditech system,
- Knowledge: Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA)
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath,
- Perform general tasks order to assist with maintaining best practice within the laboratory,
- Perform receiving and resulting tasks on the Meditech System in order to ensure correct handling, preparing and recording of specimens and results,
- Process specimens on benches in order to ensure sufficient delivery of results
