As a CIMA graduate programme trainee in the mining consultancy industry, you will work alongside experienced professionals to develop a deep understanding of the mining industry and the role that financial management accounting plays in the success of mining operations. We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team as trainees and learn the skills necessary to become successful mining consultants, while completing the CIMA qualification.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working with our team to provide financial modelling, analysis, and advisory services to our mining clients.
- Deliver high quality results and executive-friendly outputs.
- Conducting research and analysis to support the development of comprehensive mining feasibility studies, due diligence reports, and other advisory reports.
- Assisting with the preparation and review of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for mining companies.
- Contributing to the development of financial and operational strategies for mining projects.
- Assist clients to identify opportunities, create and execute a strategy, achieve the expected outcomes and sustain these outcomes through the development of strategies and project plans.
- Participating in client meetings and presentations and assisting with the preparation of materials for these engagements.
- Collaborating with other members of our team to identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Undertake potentially frequent travel as required on projects.
- Keep up to date with issues and trends in the mining industry
- Participating in other tasks and projects as assigned by the senior management team.
Experience and Qualification:
- University Degree.
- Preferred: A Bachelor’s Degree in;-
- Accounting,
- Finance,
- Engineering,
- Quantity Surveying
- Or a related field.
- Preferred: A Bachelor’s Degree in;-
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to work in a high-energy, deliverable-oriented environment with the ability to multi-task.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Financial modeling, strong PowerPoint skills and/or consulting experience is considered a strong asset.
- Candidates must already be registered or be willing to register with CIMA with the aim of becoming a qualified management accountant with the CIMA designation.
