Samancor Chrome invites unemployed graduates to apply for a 24-month Graduate / Traineeship Programme 2023-2025.

Successful candidates will undergo an intensive, structured 24-month Graduate in Training Development Programme under the supervision of Professionals. The Programme is designed to enable the Graduates to acquire knowledge and develop skills in a heavy Engineering plant in the mineral processing industry with regards to Mechanical and Chemical Engineering studies.
Purpose:
To be the continuous improvement driver of the Metallurgical process through reporting on and analysing production performance, making recommendations and implementing projects in a safe manner.
Programme Duration:
- 12 months fixed term contract
- Performance and GIT Programme review after 12 months for extension of contract
Balanced Scorecard Pillars, Roles and Responsibilities:
SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY
- Identify and assess level of continuous risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
- Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
- Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)
- Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status
CUSTOMERS
- Ensure Customer Satisfaction as specified
BUSINESS PROCESSES
Process Data:
- Analyse and Interpret Process Data
- Implement, analyse and monitor process changes
Process Reliability:
- Implement Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) findings
Process Tests:
- Conduct and Report on Process tests
Continuous Improvement:
- Achieve Continuous Improvement cost saving initiatives
Project Management:
- Manage improvement projects
SOP’S and WI’s:
- Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions
Process Training:
- Conduct Process Training
Reporting:
- Report Metallurgical Measures

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- BEng or BSc (Eng) in;-
- Metallurgical Engineering or
- Chemical Engineering
- Undergraduate or post-graduate module in refractory materials desirable
