The following In-Service Traineeships are open for applications:
In-Service Trainee – Engineering
Role Purpose:
To conduct maintenance and to remedy breakdowns in the fields of electronics, mechanics, hydraulics and pneumatics, control, measurement, coding, and inspection. To maintain (inspect and adjust) and repair equipment proactively as per maintenance targets to continually improve department efficiency, to optimise equipment availability and to minimize losses and risk.
Responsibilities:
- To perform activities in the fields of control engineering, measuring and control as well as electrical and other mechanical/technical activities in accordance with the applicable standards, regulations, and instructions.
- To ensure optimum cooperation within Maintenance department and with the production departments.
- To initiate actions for improvement.
- To transfer knowledge to the production departments.
- To optimise maintenance activities.
- To deploy the maintenance personnel reporting effectively and efficiently to him.
- Ensure all work is executed based on priorities
- Organise 3rd party services to assist in maintenance execution, where necessary.
- To (co-)direct the development of professional technical knowledge within Production, particularly among the Operators
In-Service Trainee – Quality
Key Performance Areas:
Quality Assurance:
Demonstrate the knowledge and skill around ensuring consistent and accurate laboratory analysis Through;1
- Ensuring accurate laboratory analysis techniques in compliance with Heineken laboratory standards.
- Maintaining laboratory analysis testing to conform to sampling plan.
- Ensuring timely laboratory analysis and reporting to ensure no delays to production.
- Maintaining laboratory information systems.
- Conducting laboratory audits as outlined by LSS. Ensure audits carried out by others comply with Laboratory Start System.
- Ensuring CTA Laboratory achieves and maintains LSS Level 2 certification.
- Following and maintaining requirements and procedures as laid down in the Quality system (LSS, ISO 9000, ISO 22000).
Process Improvement:
Participate in Process Improvement work in Brewing and Packaging;-
- Trend and analyse quality results to identify opportunities for quality improvement.
- Work with Brewing and packaging team leaders, and operators to improve process control.
- Participate in formal problem solving, provide technical expertise and laboratory skills.
Laboratory Maintenance:
Demonstrate knowledge, skill and behavior on maintaining the Analytical laboratory to a professional standard through;-
- Maintaining analytical testing equipment and facilities to comply with Heineken standards.
- Ensuring calibration schedules are kept to schedule.
- Ensuring compliance with laboratory best practices.
- Maintaining calibration schedules for production laboratories.
- Ensuring maintenance and calibration of Laboratory equipment per schedule on ARMS
Safety, Health and Environment:
Demonstrate knowledge and skill around a safe working environment and practices within the different requirements by;-
- Ensuring safe laboratory practices including safe chemical handling and storage.
- Identifying and eliminating all unsafe, unhealthy and environmentally damaging conditions and work practices by conducting safety audits.
- Ensuring compliance to ISO9001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Promoting safety awareness.
In-Service Training – Brewing
Key Performance Areas:
Safety, Health & Environment
- To ensure a safe working environment where all legal requirements are met in a socially responsible manner.
- Use PPE
- Report incidents
- Adhere to safety and housekeeping standards
Key responsibilities linked to Inservice Trainee Program:
- Good verbal and written communication
- Good problem-solving skills
- High energy level with love for challenge and improvement
- PC literacy
- Ability to communicate effectively at different organisational levels
- To ensure that effective teamwork occurs within and across shifts and teams at different levels.
- Handover to the Operator of the next shift communicating performance, problems and changes that may impact on the shift.
Process Operations:
- To ensure that the Supply chain process areas are operated in and optimal manner to achieve production targets.
- Adhere to the shift, daily and weekly departmental plans and raise the alarm if there is a deviation.
- Inspect process equipment and ensure that it is available and set up for startup and production according to plan.
- Carry out walk about inspections and act on deviations.
- Measure and record process inputs, outputs, and changes, and take appropriate action where required.
- To ensure the effective maintenance of the work area and equipment to meet production targets.
- Identify and communicate non-routine and breakdown maintenance tasks to relevant personnel.
- To ensure compliance to product quality standards.
- Take samples, perform quality analysis, and record data as required against laid down methods and procedures.
- Perform and ensure adherence to reference sample analysis requirements and standards.
